Ivy Paige turns Olly Murs's head on The Voice

A sassy singer from Maidstone appearing on the TV talent show The Voice had judge Olly Murs babbling like a flustered schoolboy.

Burlesque beauty Ivy Paige first seduced the Troublemaker singer with her sultry tones during the blind audition - before venturing over to share the famous red chair with him after he turned.

Murs, who was the only judge out of Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Will.i.am to press the button for the 30-something cabaret and burlesque singer, stripped off his jacket when he came face-to-face with his new team member.

Flame-haired Miss Paige said she was “absolutely delighted” after being picked on week two of the blind auditions for the ITV show.

She said: “My phone practically melted over the weekend, there’s been such a huge response from people calling to congratulate and wish me well.”

Miss Paige was born Lucinda Ryan and grew up in Rainham, attending Rainham School For Girls in Derwent Way, Gillingham, but now lives in Maidstone town centre, where she can be seen every Friday appearing in the Madame Mu Mu Cabaret Show at Mu Mu’s in Week Street.

She said: “My mum would tell you I’ve been singing ever since I was a little kid. In 2006, I created my own show and took it to the Edinburgh Festival and after that I was given a number of roles singing at shows in London.

“I love burlesque and I went with the first ever burlesque show to visit the Middle East in 2015, playing to huge audiences in the Lebanon.”

But her big break came when she got to appear as a support to comedian John Waters at Live at the Apollo.

Now she is hoping that success on The Voice will take her career even further.

She said: “I just want to show everyone what a girl from Kent can do.”

Miss Paige has also recently finished filming a documentary for BBC1 called From Burlesque Queen to Body Builder, which is due to air later this month.
