Police were called at around 10.25am, after concerns were raised about a person in distress in Maidstone.
Officers, as well as ambulance and fire services attended the towpath, near Springfield, yesterday morning where bystanders had pulled a woman from the water.
She received treatment from paramedics and was taken to hospital for further medical attention.
A spokeswoman from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to reports of a person in water near James Whatman Way, in Maidstone.
"On arrival, the casualty was already out of the water and in the care of SECAmb."
