Maidstone Borough Council cancels plans for residents to meet at Archbishops Palace in Mill Street for flood clean-up today

A community get together to clean up damage from the flood has been cancelled.
Maidstone Council had called on residents to show community spirit by heading to the Archbishops Palace this Thursday (January 2) to lend a hand.
It was forced to cancel the plans after reports from the Environment Agency suggested there was still a risk of flooding.
About 50 people were needed needed to take part in a variety of tasks which were scheduled to being at 9am.
