Car crime warning to street's residents

POLICE are monitoring Boxley Road in Maidstone following a spate of car crimes there.
Officers have warned residents to be vigilant after they spotted a trend of cars being vandalised, broken into or stolen.
Maidstone and Malling Police spokeswoman Gianna Pollero said that crimes had been reported along the road, which runs between Maidstone town centre and Boxley village.
Residents are advised to leave no valuables on show, ensure that cars are properly locked and to never leave keys in the ignition.
Police have also urged motorists to have their car windows etched with a registration number and have any fixed valuables, like stereos, property marked.
