Maidstone: Shopping centre car parks full as shoppers rush to finish off Christmas shopping
13:00, 21 December 2015
Delays have been reported on roads around Maidstone as thousands of shoppers hit the streets to do some last-minute Christmas shopping.
The Mall and Fremlin Walk car parks are full and motorists have taken to queuing on town centre roads.
With only three shopping days left before Christmas Day shoppers will be keen to clear the shelves of any remaining bargains.
In Fremlin Walk, a queue has been spotted outside jewellery shop Pandora.
Many retailers have slashed prices early to cope with tough trading conditions.
The traditional Boxing Day sales now start well before Christmas, with savvy consumers primed to expect price cuts.
Data collected by PricewaterhouseCoopers suggests that three-quarters of retailers are already reducing prices.
