Maidstone: Caravan fire in Cumberland Avenue, Shepway

A fire in a derelict caravan had to be put out last night.
Emergency crews were called to Cumberland Avenue in the Maidstone village of Shepway at about 8.45pm.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the abandoned vehicle was found alight in a field.
An eyewitness said they could see black smoke coming from it.
A police spokesman said officers had been made aware.
