A road is partially blocked after the driver of a Ford Fiesta lost control and ploughed into a house.
Part of Milton Street in Maidstone is shut off following the accident at the junction with Hackney Road.
Witnesses say traffic is coping "well" but police have cordoned off the area with tape.
The silver Ford has been left with a crumpled bonnet. The frame of the front door of the white-painted house was damaged by the crash.
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene where the driver had left prior to their arrival to get medical attention. Officers later spoke to him at hospital and enquiries are continuing into the circumstances."
A spokeswoman for Kent Fire and Rescue said they were called at 3.05pm. She added: "Crews helped make the scene safe and then left it in the care of Kent Police."
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed no patients were taken to hospital.
In a separate incident this afternoon, a car is reported to have crashed into a shop in Station Road, Longfield, between Dartford and Gravesend.
Traffic was reported to be "slow" in both directions from the B260 Main Road to Ash Road. Ambulance and fire services were on the scene.
A spokesman for Kent police said: "Officers, paramedics and fire crews attended the scene where the two occupants were treated for minor injuries. They were taken to a local hospital as a precaution."
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "We were called to reports of a single-car collision with a building in Station Road in Longfield at around 3pm. Two fire engines attended. Crews helped release two occupants from the vehicle who were then passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service."
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "I can confirm ambulance crews attended following reports of a road traffic collision in Station Road at approximately 3pm. Two people have been taken to hospital for further checks."
