They melt our hearts each week with their sad tales, but the Kent Messenger and the RSPCA have helped unite animals with new permanent homes.
These are just a few who experienced happy endings after featuring in our column.
Black and white puss Aaron was taken in by the RSPCA’s Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells branch in May, with an abscess.
His wound healed well and after being featured he found a home with a loving couple.
Ten-year-old Millie had been left deeply traumatised after her elderly owner died. She had gone into a state of shock, losing her fur, but volunteers had given her plenty of TLC so that it grew back and she was able to learn to trust again.
She was taken in and is settling well into her new home.
Bruno was found with one of his back legs caught in chicken wire and it had to be amputated. Now known as Bruno Mars for his love of singing, he has found a quiet home with a couple.
Other lucky moggies are Winston, who had been a stray on the streets and Socks whose owners moved abroad.
Kate Matthews from the branch said: “I would like to thank the KM team for all the help and support. There is no doubt that the publicity does help us home some of our precious animals.”
She also thanked those who had provided new homes.
If you can re-home an animal contact the RSPCA in Leybourne on 0330 1230 751, or the Maidstone branch on 01622 891222.
