A crook masquerading as a plumber stole jewellery and cash from two retirement homes in Maidstone.

Between 6.30pm and 7pm on Tuesday, September 12 a man went to the properties in Union Street and told the occupants he was from a water company and there to fix the plumbing. He asked them to empty cupboards, turn on taps and while they were distracted raided their homes.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they say can help with their investigation.
