Police have released an image of a man they want to contact after more than £200,000 was taken from vulnerable people by rogue traders.

It's been reported that a number of victims have been targeted on separate occasions since October, with vulnerable people in Ashford, Dartford, Marden and St Mary's Bay losing thousands.

Officers think the man in the photo may be able to help with their inquiries.

Each report has claimed that workmen have knocked at the victim's property and agree to have some work undertaken, before the men are paid in cash.

Months later a man claiming to be a police officer went back to the address and tells the victims that the workmen had been arrested and they should expect a call from another officer.

The victim then receives a call from the alleged officer or court official, claiming that the suspects have been charged and there is VAT owed from the work, before saying that a police officer will come collect the funds from their house.

They are then told that as a victim they have been granted compensation, but the only way to claim this is through paying funds into a court controlled bank account.

Police are asking for anyone with information regarding these incidents or if they know the identity of the man pictured, to call Kent Police on 101 quoting reference 46/29235/18.
