Lane shut on St Peter's Bridge, Fairmeadow, Maidstone as falling barrier hits pedestrian

A child has suffered bruising after being struck by a falling barrier.
One lane was shut on St Peter's Bridge in Maidstone this afternoon after the plastic barrier fell from a moving vehicle and struck the youngster, who remains unknown.
The driver stopped at the scene.
Fortunately the child's injuries are not serious.
Kent Police were called to the scene and a spokesman confirmed the driver will be reported for carrying an insecure load.
Traffic was coping well with the blocked lane on Fairmeadow.
