It might only be September but a Christmas event has already been cancelled.
Mote Park in Maidstone was set to be transformed into an Ice Park for two weeks around the festive period.
But financial demands from an Italian company supplying a specialist ice rink meant organisers could not afford to run the event.
A Maidstone Borough Council spokeswoman said: "It is with regret that the Ice Park planned this year has been cancelled.
"The equipment supplier was asking the organiser for a personal guarantee for the event equipment arriving from Europe which they were not able to do.
"Unfortunately due to the lack of time to reinstate an alternative supplier, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s event."
The fortnight of family fun was set to feature an ice rink, an ice slide, Santa's Grotto, and dodgems on ice.
A food village, fully licensed bars and a fairground meant the attraction could have been the County Town's own Winter Wonderland.
MBC said "a few tickets" had sold for the event, which have now been fully refunded.
Organisers have been taking bookings since June, the council has so far not commented on whether those who have paid for tickets will be refunded.
The event's website has been taken down.
