Reindeer, part of Maidstone's Christmas lights, damaged by vandals overnight
11:00, 25 November 2014
A Christmas reindeer on display as part of the festive lights in Maidstone has been vandalised.
The metal reindeer, which was in Jubilee Square and lit up at night, was discovered to have been damaged this morning.
Its metal frame had been left mangled out of shape.
It was one of the main lights in the town provided by Maidstone council, along with two illuminated Christmas trees in the upper and lower High Street.
The reindeer was taken away this morning to see whether it can be repaired.
A spokesman for Maidstone council said the incident had been reported to the police and was being investigated.
