Club Class is to return to Maidstone after an eight year absence

A legendary club night is due to see a grand return to Maidstone after an eight-year absence.
For over 11 years decade Club Class was one of the pillars of the county town's music scene, attracting crowds across the south-east and as far away as France and Germany to dance to house music.
Now the organisers are inviting loyal regulars to return to relive their salad days in March with Club Class Classical.
Taking place at Maidstone Studio, this will see a full 40 piece orchestra will give classical renditions of some of the greatest anthems of the late 90s and early 2000s.
The whole event will be professionally filmed and the music choice will be decided entirely by Club Class veterans.
Sergio Bienati started the night with friends Greg Frith, Tomislav Stojanovic and Paul Shoebridge in 1997.
Initially, it was held at Atomics in Hart Street from 1997 to 2000 after which it moved to Ikon in Barker Road and then in 2002 The Loft in Gabriels Hill. Many regulars also frequented the River Bar in Broadway.
The last Club Class was held at Maidstone Studios in 2008.
Almost 20 years on, Mr Bienati said he received an overwhelming response when he suggested a revival.
He said: "We were used to going clubbing in the north of England in the 1990s. The feeling was different to the south. We wanted to bring that to Kent.
"At that time clubbing in Maidstone was shoes and shirts, no jeans. We went against that and made it more about who people were, not what they wearing."
Club Class Classical takes place on Saturday, March 4 at Maidstone Studios. Anyone interested in attending can sign up via email at www.club-class.org.
