A family is appealing for the return of a prized campervan stolen from outside a home in Collier Street.
The white Fiat Ducato was taken between 7.45pm and 8.55pm last night from a driveway in Pettits Row.
Owner and retired social worker Linda Smith, 71, is seriously ill and her son Scott has decided to offer a £5,000 cash reward of the van, which is of great sentimental value.
"We are more upset than angry," the 48-year-old said. "I am disgusted by what's happened, I really am."
A Kent Police spokesman said no arrests have been made and the vehicle has not been located.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01622 604100 quoting 26-1263. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555111.
