Police searching for a missing man have found a body.

The discovery was made this afternoon in Barming Woods near Maidstone.

The North Pole Road is currently closed between Barming allotments to the junction of Wateringbury Road.

Jamin Longhurst, 49, had been missing since around 10.30am yesterday (October 20).

In a post on social media, his wife Jo Longhurst said: “We are absolutely devastated that the body of my gorgeous husband and wonderful father of two amazing boys was found in Barming Woods this afternoon.

“We are completely heartbroken and our world has been shattered.

“We would like to say a massive thank you to Kent Police, the search and rescue teams and to each and every one of you who shared our post and went out searching, thank you.”
