An annual comic convention with a growing following proved another show-stopper for shoppers in Maidstone today.
Demoncon 9 attracted hundreds to the Royal Star Arcade in the High Street, where some weird and wonderful comic and sci fi characters were ready to "greet" them.
The event is organised by the Grinning Demon shop in the arcade and had more than 570 people through the doors.
Once past the gate keepers, they were able to see some of the comic world's big names in action.
They included Kurtis Wiebe, Clint Langley and Marc Laming, as well as Maidstone's own, writer Dan Abnett.
There had also been a VIP night on Friday, which included a question and answer session which will be posted online by the Grinning Demon.
Owner Graham Beadle said: "The feedback has been fantastic and we have got some really good reports. We've had over 100 people in costume.
"It's always really popular."
He said attendance was slightly down on what he had been hoping for due to a problem with flyers which had been due to be printed.
The event also raises money for Demelza and a project to get comics into local schools. It was sponsored by Specsavers.
