Council's email keeps community informed

00:00, 01 November 2002

A MONTHLY email bulletin is being offered by Maidstone Borough Council to keep residents up to date on all the biggest issues in the area.

The E-Bulletin has been set up by the council's five scrutiny committees and will include information on up-coming meetings and recent decisions. It will also give people a chance to have their say.

Subscriptions to the free monthly service can be made by emailing osc@maidstone.gov.uk with "Subscribe" in the subject box or on the council's website, www.digitalmaidstone.co.uk/osc

The move comes after the council was praised in a Government report for its implementation of scrutiny committees and its efforts to inform the public about their work.

The Improvement and Development Agency, part of the office of deputy prime minister, John Prescott, described the borough council as "a byword for success in overview and scrutiny".
