Delays in Maidstone town centre after crash on A229 Upper Stone Street

Drivers experienced long delays in a town centre this afternoon following a crash.
Emergency services were at the scene of an accident on A229 Upper Stone Street in Maidstone.
One lane was blocked near the junction with Foster Street, but this has since reopened.
KCC Highways warned motorists to approach with caution and expect long delays in the area.
Both police and the ambulance service were called to the scene.
A spokesman from the force said: “This was a collision reported at 2.10pm and involved two vehicles.
“Officers attended and there were no serious injuries reported.”
At around 4.30pm a car was recovered and removed.
