Emergency services freed a man who was trapped in an overturned car following a three-vehicle crash in Maidstone this afternoon.
The incident closed Royal Engineers' Road, heading into the town, which caused major disruption. The delays have now cleared.
The busy dual carriageway was shut Maidstone-bound between the Barracks roundabout and Flower Rise heading towards Maidstone, leaving some motorists stuck for up to two hours.
Police said they were called to a three-vehicle crash at 12.10pm.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said crews stabilised the car and used hydraulic spreaders to create some space to access the casualty.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
Witnesses reported seeing one vehicle on its side and four ambulances, a fire engine and two police cars dealing with the crash.
At one point, queues stretched back to the top of Blue Bell Hill and there were also delays on the M20 between junction 5 (Aylesford) and junction 6 (Running House/A228).
The car has been recovered.
