Firefighters tackled a blaze in the ground floor hallway of a two-storey house in Maidstone.
The fire broke out at the property in Wrangleden Road at around 8.10pm last night, with two engines called to the scene.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the flames and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke.
UK Power Networks also attended and the power supply was isolated, which affected some neighbouring homes.
No injuries were reported and the firefighters left at just before 10pm.
