The keen motorcyclist was riding his black Yamaha on the London-bound carriageway when it collided with a white lorry.

Ambulance crews arrived at the scene within 11 minutes of a 999 call, navigating the Operation Brock contraflow.

Mateusz Pietrow, 31, has been arrested and charged with causing death by careless driving.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 22.

The M20 was closed for more than six hours to allow officers to carry out forensic work at the scene.

A Secamb spokesman said: "We have widely communicated with our staff regarding Operation Brock.

"Our crews are trained to drive to the conditions the road presents and we would urge all drivers across our whole region to be particularly aware of all emergency vehicles which may need to make their way through traffic."

The inquest will open on Thursday morning.
