A dead pony was found dumped on a pallet in a rural village.
The animal was discovered in Ringlestone Road, Hollingbourne, on Sunday.
A person who spotted the horse, which was said to be emaciated, called police for assistance at around 9.40am.
A spokesman for the force confirmed patrols attended to make sure the creature "wasn't causing an obstruction". It was then removed.
