A drug dealer caught with heroin hidden beneath a tumble dryer and in his sock has been jailed for four years.

Christopher Cleminson, 29, formerly of Eccles Row, Eccles, was arrested in August 2013 after officers executed a warrant at a flat in Maidstone.

A search of the Callisto Court home revealed a large wrap of the class A drug, weighing 6.9g, hidden beneath the tumble dryer.

Two smaller wraps were also discovered in Cleminson’s sock.

Cleminson’s mobile telephone was seized and found to contain messages believed to be from customers requesting drugs.

He pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, June 11.

He had been convicted of a similar offence in 2011.

Investigating officer detective constable Nicola Brown said: "Drugs ruin lives and the courts take a dim view of those who exploit the addictions of others for their own personal gain.

"Cleminson originally denied being a supplier of heroin but we built a strong case against him and the evidence was such that he had little choice but to change his plea at the last minute."
