Fire in Melford Drive, Maidstone burns decking and damages neighbouring property

Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire last night in Maidstone.
The blaze had started on some decking in a garden on Melford Drive around 9.30pm, and had spread to the fascia of a neighbouring property.
The occupier of the adjacent house had prevented it from spreading further by throwing buckets of water on the flames.
Crews used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus while extinguishing the fire.
Firefighters left the scene just before 10.15pm.
