Motorists are reporting delays around Maidstone after an accident this afternoon.

Police and paramedics have been called to the Maidstone bridge system near the Travelodge in St Peter's Street.

Three cars were involved and there are reports of one person injured.

Two police cars and two ambulances were at the scene.

One lane closed and a driver said there are delays around the one-way system.

A police spokesman said: "It was reported that some of the vehicles involved were obstructing a live lane.

"Officers attended the scene, as did a crew from Secamb.

"The vehicles had been cleared from the road by approximately 4.10pm."
