A suspected drink driver is in custody after a serious crash on the A249 Detling Hill.
Debris was strewn across the road following the two-vehicle smash, which is thought to have happened just after 1am this morning (Saturday, June 22).
The northbound carriageway heading from Maidstone towards Sittingbourne was shut as a result of the crash near the Kent Showground.
Police were called out to the scene, with the closure in place from the Stockbury Roundabout.
A police spokeswoman said: "Ambulance crews also attended and treated one person at the scene.
"A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving and remains in custody."
The person's injuries are not thought to be serious.
Motorists were advised to use Blue Bell Hill as an alternative route.
Detling Hill reopened just before 5.50am.
