Maidstone: Driver arrested on A229 after being found over drink drive limit

A 49-year-old was arrested this morning after being stopped while driving over the legal limit for alcohol.

The man, of no fixed address, was stopped by officers off the A229 Chatham Road in Maidstone.

He was arrested shortly before 10am and remains in police custody.

Kent Police's roads team tweeted to say the man was five times over the limit, which is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
