A country lane was blocked in both directions after a car overturned and the driver fled.
Emergency services were called at 2.50pm yesterday (January 21) following a two-vehicle crash in Lenham Road, Platts Heath.
As a result, the road was blocked in both directions and motorists were advised to seek alternative routes.
One fire engine attended and crews worked to clean a diesel leak which had spilled from one of the vehicles.
They confirmed there were no reported injuries.
The driver of the Skoda fled the scene on foot and a police helicopter helped officers on the ground with a search.
At around 3.40pm, a Volkswagen was stopped in Lenham Road.
A man was detained on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis and failing to stop after a collision.
Two other people in the car were also arrested in connection with the incident.
All three remain in custody.
