Driver taken to London hospital after crash on Maidstone-bound A229, near junction 6 of M20

A driver has been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries following a crash near Maidstone .
Police were called at 10.25pm after a Mercedes A-Class smashed into a barrier on the slip road of the Maidstone-bound A229, heading towards junction 6 of the M20.
Officers and medics were sent and the driver was taken to Kings College Hospital by road, with the help of an air ambulance crew, with serious injuries.
A passenger was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
Another three patients were treated at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.
