Maidstone: Drugs thrown into a river at St Peter Street

Police Officers have used a boat to recover suspected drugs thrown into the river Medway at Maidstone.

Three men and a teenager were arrested at 12.30pm on Tuesday, October 17, when officers spotted them acting suspiciously on the towpath near St Peter Street.

A plastic bag believed to contain cocaine was seen to be thrown into the river, however, it failed to sink and the officers borrowed a nearby boat to recover it.

Two men and a boy aged 29, 18 and 15 years, all from Maidstone, who were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs were subsequently released pending further investigation.

A 28-year-old man from Dartford who was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug was also released under investigation.
