An elderly man was rushed to hospital for smoke inhalation following a fire at his ground floor flat yesterday afternoon.
A pair of fire engines and an ambulance from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the property in Sandhurst Road, Tunbridge Wells at 3.25pm.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service say the first crew arrived at the property within three minutes of receiving the 999 call and gave the man, thought to be in his mid 80s, oxygen.
He was then taken to hospital and crews ventilated the property using a specialist fan before leaving the scene at 3.40pm.
