Man taken to hospital following kitchen fire in Maidstone home

An elderly man has been taken to hospital following a fire which started in the kitchen of his home.
Two crews were called to a property in Fant Lane, Maidstone, shortly after 10.20am.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to douse the flames.
Paramedics were called and the occupant was taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries remain unclear.
Crews left the scene at 10.45am.
