Railway line between Maidstone West and Paddock Wood blocked as high winds bring down tree

Passengers were left waiting in the cold after high winds brought down a tree on the Medway Valley Line.
The line between Maidstone West and Paddock Wood was blocked shortly after 10am, while engineers work to remove the tree which has fallen near Beltring station.
Southeastern has warned of disruption to services between Strood, Maidstone West and Paddock Wood while the line is cleared.
The line reopened at 10.30am, but disruption is expected to last until midday.
