Hundreds of families didn't let the rain dampen their spirits as they enjoyed an open-air show in Maidstone.
Millennium Park, off James Whatman Way, became a sea of picnic blankets and flags last night as at least 1,000 people settled down for a night of alfresco entertainment.
This year's Proms in the Park featured the Kent Orchestra, led by John Perkins. They were accompanied by the Maidstone Singers, under Jeffrey Vaughan Martin.
Heavy downpours had soaked the town earlier in the afternoon but the soggy weather held off for most of the evening.
The annual event, which is free to attend, finished off with a fireworks display.
