A father and son will stand trial for their alleged part in a a crowd brawl at a charity boxing match.
Noah Rye junior and senior pleaded not guilty to affray following the incident at New Line Learning Academy, in Boughton Lane, Loose, in March.
Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court today heard how spectators at the Maidstone Gurkha Boxing Club fight night were sent running for cover as punches and chairs were thrown.
The Ryes, from Church Field, Snodland, are accused of starting the brawl, with Rye junior allegedly throwing the first punch.
James Nichols, prosecuting, said: "People were frantically moving their children and belongings out of the way as the violence escalated."
Standing in the dock the pair only spoke to confirm their details and enter their pleas and were released on conditional bail to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, July 24.
Until that date they must not attend any boxing events or go to Boughton Lane.
