Gravesend man arrested after Ferrari collides with pedestrian in Sutton Road, Maidstone

A 60-year-old man has been arrested after a Ferrari collided with a pedestrian in Maidstone.

The driver, a 60-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later released pending further investigation.

The pedestrian was treated for injuries at the scene by paramedics and the road was closed until 5.20pm.

Sanjay Bansal, who witnessed the incident, said: "My partner Tasha Lacey, who is a first aider, ran straight to the injured person as soon as it happened."

He said one of the men involved was "shaken up and confused" but police and ambulance crews arrived on the scene quickly.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 2pm on Sunday 10 January regarding a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Sutton Road near the junction with Horseshoes Lane.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrian was treated for injuries. The road was closed while emergency services were at the scene and reopened at around 5.20pm."
