Firefighters have spent more than eight hours tackling a blaze at an industrial estate overnight.
Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier were called to Detling Aerodrome in Detling Hill, Maidstone, just after midnight.
The fire is believed to have been caused by commercial waste being set alight.
People living nearby were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to the amount of smoke.
The warning was lifted at 5.15am.
Crews were reportedly “making good progress” and the number of fire engines was dropped down to two.
At 9am the blaze, involving a large amount of rubbish, was extinguished and teams left the scene.
A spokesperson from the service said: “No injuries have been reported, and the cause is not yet known.”
