Firefighters tackle farm blaze
00:00, 15 October 2004
FIREFIGHTERS worked through last night to contain a blaze fuelled by more than 100 round hay bales.
Two crews were called to a farm on Back Street, Langley, near Maidstone, just before 7pm and successfully prevented the fire spreading to nearby trees.
This morning one crew was still at the scene damping down the remains until 8am.
According to firefighters at the scene, the fire had been burning for more than an hour before they were called. No one was injured in the incident and police are not treating it as suspicious.
