Boughton Monchelsea: Fly-tipped rubbish on fire in Brishing Lane

Firefighters were called after a blaze started in a large pile of fly-tipped waste.
Crews went to Brishing Lane, near Boughton Monchelsea shortly before 9.30am today.
Two fire engines were needed, as well as an all terrain vehicle, and crews used a shuttle to get extra water from a nearby hydrant.
They used had left by 12pm.
It is believed to have started in a mountain of rubble, which was dumped in the lane at some point between Sunday and Monday, blocking the entrance to the former landfill site.
It included pipe work and a Jewson's bag.
A spokesperson for Maidstone Borough Council said: “The council has been informed of a large fly-tip on Brishing Lane, Boughton Monchelsea.
“We have visited the site and have discovered the waste to be on private land. We are currently trying to contact the owner to inform them so they can arrange for its removal.”
