The club, which has fourteen different teams, lost a white line machine, flags, goals and respect lines.

The online fundraising page is currently sitting at £1,120.

Club secretary and treasurer David Gubbins said: "I have been staggered by the local clubs who have helped us. Vinters have been great and have offered to loan us some goals.

"It's such a shame, it is the first season we have used this ground for games for two of our teams and our equipment and items for the village fete are all gone.

"Luckily other teams have offered us help and the Express Cabs Maidstone Primary League have offered us £500 to replace items and that is incredible.

"It restores your faith in human nature, it absolutely amazing."

Police are investigating a report of attempted burglary after the incident.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
