A former council family centre has sold for more than half a million pounds – again.

The vacant Larkfield Family Support Centre, in Martin Square, Larkfield, was auctioned off for the first time in March and went for around £100,000 more than the asking price.

The site was sold for £519,000 – however the buyer did not complete.

It was re-listed earlier this month with land and property auctioneers Clive Emson and once again exceeded expectatons under the hammer – albeit selling for £12,000 less than before.

The commercial premises, which covers 0.38 acres, sold at auction for £507,000.

Auctioneer Kevin Gilbert said: “This was one of many lots that sold extremely well.

“The site of this building lies in a mostly residential area and if consents are obtainable homes could be built there.

“We had some extremely keen bidders that pushed the price up.”

It was marketed as having the possibility for development as long as necessary consents are obtainable.

A 2.14 acre paddock on the south side of Tumblers Hill, Sutton Valence, also sold at auction for £132,000.

The plot had been in the same family for many years and once formed part of the Sutton Valence Caste grounds.

Another lot was a small, detached building in Maidstone Road, Nettlestead, which has been used for storage, which went for £45,567.

Also at the sale was land next to Wood View, Lenham Road, Kingswood. It sold for £70,000.
