A Maidstone woman has been convicted of biting a Muslim taxi driver days after the Manchester Arena bombing.

Frankie Jo Schock, of St Peter’s Street, appeared before Maidstone Magistrates Court following an attack last year.

The court heard the 31-year-old bit her victim before her then boyfriend repeatedly punched him.

Magistrates heard Schock was travelling in a cab in the town in May, when she began to discuss the Manchester Arena bombing, which had killed 23 people just nine days earlier.

Drunken Schock asked the driver if he was a "good or bad Muslim" before turning aggressive.

Photographs showed bite marks on the driver’s arm, which Schock denied were hers.

Pulling up at Pevensey Court, magistrates heard Schock shouted up to her then boyfriend, Sam Wood, who came downstairs and punched the cabbie repeatedly in the face and head.

During police interview, Schock denied all memory of the incident, but told magistrates she did remember discussing the Manchester bombings while in the vehicle.

Wood, 25, of Wellesley Road, Ashford, admitted assault by beating and was found not guilty of racially aggravated assault. He was bailed for a probation hearing.

Schock was found guilty of racially aggravated assault and will be sentenced on March 13.
