A GIRL of three who was found seriously injured beside her dead mother after the pair fell from a block of flats has today been named by police.
She is Yazmina Alvarez-Delgardo who has now been taken off the critical list in hospital.
Her mother, 33-year-old Maxine Carr, of Hawley Court, off London Road, Maidstone, died at the scene from multiple injuries.
It is still not known whether the mother jumped or fell accidentally from the flats with the child.
The little girl is now in a stable condition at Guy's Hospital, London, where her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are continuing their inquiries into the tragedy which happened in the early hours of last Friday. It is thought the pair fell from the sixth floor of the building.
The incident is being investigated by the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) after the case was voluntarily handed over by Kent Police.
The PCA will examine the decisions of Kent Police who believed there was no risk to the girl or her mother earlier that night when they investigated an alleged disturbance.
Police received a second call in the early hours to which they did not respond. It is now believed that the mother was dead at the time of the call.
