Maidstone: New front entrance to Lockmeadow complex on Barker Road to open soon

New signage has finally gone up at the Lockmeadow entertainment complex in Maidstone, with hopes that the new front entrance could be open soon.
Refurbishment work in the Barker Road venue started in late-2016, and was originally due to be completed by mid-January.
The grand opening was then pushed back to March, and has been further pushed back since, with visitors having to use a back entrance to access shops, entertainment, and eateries.
But visitors over the bank holiday weekend would have noticed that the new signage has now been put in place on the newly revamped front.
The revamp comes after Maidstone Borough Council granted planning permission for the new glass frontage to the building in September last year.
A spokesman for Savills, who deal with holdings at the complex, said the hoardings should be taking down at the end of the month, but the launch event won't be until early June, to coincide with the opening of new restaurant, Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
The eatery will replace Fogo Chophouse, which was previously in the complex.
Kames Capital, who own the building, has been approached for comment.
