A pair of boulders created by Angel of the North sculptor Antony Gormley is settling into a new home today... after being painstakingly winched into place in Maidstone. The Two Stones - massive boulders commissioned by Kent County Council from the renowned artist - were originally at Singleton Lake in Ashford. But they had to be removed after vandals damaged them, and they have since been under specialist repair at Telford in Shropshire. Related storiesWork to restore Gormley boulders nears completion
Now, the sculptures have been moved to their new site, the History and Library Centre in Maidstone.
One of the stones is made from granite, representing the old or traditional, while the other is bronze, which represents the new.
The work is particularly significant to Maidstone, as Gormley is a former student at the Maidstone College of Art.
The massive operation involved large cranes and even the closure of one lane in each direction of the dual carriageway.

Battle to keep Gormley boulders in Ashford lost
Speaking today, Matt Hyland - project co-ordinator for KCC for the Gormley sculpture - said he was really pleased the sculpture was in its new home.
He said the work, created in the seventies, was unique, and very different from his later instalments.
He hoped its new position would be a major focal point in Maidstone.
He said: "The new position for the stones means they are at the gateway to Maidstone.
"They are in a very, very prominent position: we've got the Gallagher Stadium, Maidstone's new ground, and the library building.
"This roundabout represents a significant focal point for Maidstone."
He said other public artwork would soon be appearing around the town.
