A government cabinet member will visit Yalding today, hours ahead of a public meeting to discuss flooding.
Chief secretary to the treasury Danny Alexander will be at the village’s Post Office, in the High Street, from 3.50pm.
He will remain in the village for close to an hour and will listen to concerns from flood-hit residents.
Tonight the Environment Agency will be at the church of St Peter and St Paul from 7pm tonight to speak about the recent floods.
Yalding has been hounded by continual flooding since homes were swept underwater on Christmas Eve but after close two months of little respite the weather looks to be on the turn.
The Environment Agency lifted a flood warning on the village on Sunday and a week of dry weather is expected to lower river levels.
