It has said there will be spells of persistent and at times heavy rain which could cause areas to flood.

The conditions are expected to clear eastwards by the afternoon with some areas experiencing 40-50 mm of rain.

A few homes and businesses are expected to flood, journey times may be longer due to waterlogged roads and bus and train services could be affected.

The weather experts have warned people to take care when travelling and to plan ahead.

Earlier this week, roads were described as rivers as they became waterlogged and some are still closed following the heavy downpours.

The B2162 Hampstead Lane, Yalding, is shut in both directions due to flooding between Hampstead Lock and the B2015 Maidstone Road.

Sheephurst Lane, Marden, is also closed between the B2079 Goudhurst Road and the B2162 Maidstone Road, Claygate.
