Help hand for first and second time buyers

THE Thames Gateway division of house builder Bellway has launched a new promotion at Maritime Gate, Northfleet, aimed at helping first and second time buyers. Chris Edginton, sales director, said: "First-time buyers can move into their new home for just £250 - the reservation fee - by opting to make use of a deferred deposit mortgage organised by Bellway Financial Services.
For anyone with an existing home to sell first, there is our Express Mover scheme."
By taking advantage of the deferred deposit mortgage and with the offer to pay legal fees and stamp duty, first time buyers can save up to £9,000 on initial buying costs. With the deferred deposit mortgage, payment of the deposit is deferred to when the purchaser moves home or within 10 years, whichever is sooner.
For the existing home owner, Express Mover, a local estate agent is appointed to market the purchaser's existing property and then regular contact is maintained to ensure a buyer is found as soon as possible. Bellway pays the agents' fee and also the legal fees and stamp duty.
Prices at Maritime Gate start at £115,000 for a two-bedroom semi-detached house.
