An empty Grade II-listed pub is set to go under the hammer at auction.
Permission was granted to convert The Harrow Inn in Ulcombe Maidstone into housing in April.
Now, it is listed for sale by land and property auctioneers, Clive Emson, with a freehold guide price of £480,000-£490,000.
It comes after many failed attempts to make the pub profitable, including an attempt by residents to buy it as a community asset.
However, the plan faltered when only £40,000 was raised for the purchase.
Several villagers later formed a company and attempted to have the venue run as a community pub, but after three public meetings and hours of consultations it was clear this was not viable.
Chris Milne, auction appraiser, said: “The permission allows for conversion into a four-bedroom semi and it would be a fine home.
“It is situated close to the M20 as well as a railway station and shops and other amenities.
“It was a pub since at least 1848 but recently closed and now awaits a new owner to direct its future.
“The building is attractive and we anticipate interest from builders and developers.”
There was an attempt to auction the pub off with Savills in 2016 but there were no bids.
